about

retrodog is a big fan of Richard Linklater’s 1991 indie movie ‘Slacker’, and has been entranced by the soundtrack’s rich mixture of ambient and street sounds, which underscores the often wacky dialogue spoken by the large cast of characters who drift through the streets of Austin, Texas. So, the ‘dog started to work with audio clips from the movie, layering them into scratch-built ‘backing’ tracks. Mostly electronic in character, lots of loops and FX, but with some guitars and drums too. Detour Productions have very kindly granted permission for the use of the soundtrack material for this project..
