retrodog owes the name to author Ian Sinclair’s musings on the dogs of choice for criminal types in East London. The music draws on past pop glories, and the often obscure sounds of 60’s and 70’s pyschedelia and folk, with a nod to early hip hop and funk, it may embrace anything from gentle acousticism to abstract ambient electronic soundtracks, via abrasive guitar rock and hip hop.
